JON PARDI // EVANSVILLE, IN
The highly anticipated Jon Pardi show was finally here. Originally set for May 31st, Pardi had to reschedule due to sickness. Stopping at the Ford Center for his Honkytonk Hollywood Tour, fans started shuffling in to party all night long. Opening up for the night was Kassi Ashton. Engaging with the crowd, she set the tone for the night. Her set was filled with songs for her debut album, Made from the Dirt: The Blooms. If people hadn’t heard of her before, they definitely know her name now.
Back when Jon Pardi announced he would have to reschedule, he made a statement that he wanted to give fans the show that they deserve. And to say he delivered is an understatement. From the moment he walked onto the stage, there wasn’t a fan sitting down for the rest of the night. Opening up with Honkytonk Hollywood, the visuals and pyro effects only amplified the energy that was already through the roof.
The show was blended with classics likes Head Over Boots, Dirt On My Boots, and Your Heart Or Mine and newer tracks from his newest album Honkytonk Hollywood which consisted of Boots Off, Hard Knocks, and Friday Night Heartbreaker. Jon Pardi is a fan favorite. The way he engages with a crowd makes you feel like a friend. It’s always a good time when both the artist and crowd embrace each other. After performing Mr. Saturday Night, he invited a young man up to the stage. Before you know it, he’s invited his girlfriend up on stage and got on one knee to propose. Of course she said yes which prompted Pardi to go straight into Your Heart Or Mine.
After going back to back to back with songs, he takes a moment to talk to the crowd. He goes into breaking down how he wrote the next song he was going to sing, Starlight. He took time to say he wrote this song about his grandmother, as she was the one who originally got him into country music when he was younger. Slowing it down a little bit, he asked everyone to get out their phones and light up the area. It was a chill bump worthy moment and made the song that more special. Continuing on in the night, the crowd was singing word for word with every song. They never missed a beat, especially when he and the band paid tribute to the Prince of Darkness.
Overall, Jon Pardi’s Evansville concert was a night to remember. From the first note to the final encore, he brought unmatched energy, charm, and a true country spirit to the stage. Backed by a phenomenal band and a crowd that came ready to sing along, Pardi delivered a set full of fan favorites and new hits that kept the arena buzzing. It was a high-powered, feel-good celebration of everything fans love about live country music.
