For their stop at the Ford Center in Evansville, IN, Whiskey Myers brought Alex Lambert and Kashus Culpepper to open up their "What We Were Born To Do” Tour 2025. Fans shuffled in when the doors opened at 5:30pm. The merch lines were long and the anticipation was building.
Alex Lambert and his band took the stage to kick off the night. The fans that were taking their seats, bobbed their heads and grooved to the rhythm. Following their set, Kashus Culpepper walked out and prepped the crowd for what was about to come. Culpepper has a sound that is such a story teller vibe. Not only does his voice effortlessly come through the speakers, he was also strumming his acoustic guitar.
Although the openers sets were much too short for the talent they possess, the crowd was ready for Whiskey Myers to take the stage.
The lights go down. Six spotlights light up aiming out towards the audience. The crowd roars with cheers. Their silhouette’s slowly take the stage. The lighting changes to red while lead guitarist John Jeffers strikes the first few notes of their opening song, Gasoline. Whiskey Myers frontman, Cody Cannon sets the tone for the note the moment he belts out the first line. Cody touches on how there is no place like his home, Texas. Playing hits throughout the night included Bury My Bones, The Wolf, Trailer We Call Home and John Wayne. Not only were the fans on their feet the entire night, they continuously sang word for word back to the band.
