UnityTX’s New Album “Somewhere, In Between…” Demands Your Attention!

If there was ever a soundtrack to express those moments where I’ve had feelings of frustration, disrespect, and rage, it would be UnityTX’s new album “Somewhere, In Between…”. The Dallas-based Hardcore/Hip-Hop outfit is set to drop a collection of bangers that echoes every thought we have had at some time or another when dealing with these emotions and it’s honestly a welcomed experience that will warrant recognition from fans of heavy music.
At the very start, “SABOTAGE” opens up the gates and sets the tone for what I could only describe as absolute carnage. Once the guitars hit, you can’t help but purse your lips, squint your eyes, and let out a “Wooooooo!” (in the style of Rick Flair). Let’s just say I’d be leaving the pit in a walker if I had seen this live. But I wouldn’t want to miss the lyrical assault that ensues in the tracks that follow. The goal here is to “ENJOY THA SHOW”, which is fitting for the experience considering that it’s also one of the singles that dropped ahead of the full length. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a spin (or in most cases nowadays, a stream) before the album release along with their other singles “HEINOUS”, “BODY ROC”, and “STFU”. These are all currently on repeat.
Personally, I can’t wait for you all to experience the tracks “COME N GO (NÜ JAX)” and “PARANOIA” as both of these songs highlight what it’s like to be underestimated and how dismissive people can be. Frontman, SHAOLIN G, drives this point home when rapping about how people and the industry hold you to impossible standards and leave no room for you to stand out the way you want to. He also illustrates how those around you can come and go as opportunity overtakes loyalty for some, which is a heavy theme for the album. And in my opinion, deeply rooted in truth.
Other notable tracks that grabbed my attention are “IN BETWEEN…” and “INSIDE OUT ft. HOUSE OF PROTECTION” which serve as swift punches to the gut in various ways. A flurry of intentional messaging about how standing your ground and facing difficult emotions (and people) should be the core of who we are. There is no subtlety in any of the songs on the album and that stays true to the nature of hardcore and hip-hop genres.
Which brings me to the instrumentation throughout the album. They are as bold and direct as the lyrics where the musicality serves as a ripe sonic canvas for the no BS verbal beatdown SHAOLIN G delivers. With a mixture of electronic elements giving the base of nu-metal influence, unforgiving guitars and chest pounding beats accompany the mix with a heaviness one could describe as sheer brutality. So for those of you running subs in your cars, tape down those license plates (this is an ode to a better time).
The album is honest, gritty, and quite frankly a call back to true hardcore music. It is a statement in the highest order for UnityTX and most definitely demands your attention. “Somewhere, In Between…” is set to be released by Pure Noise Records on Friday, March 13, 2026. I suggest you get on your streaming services, pre-save this album, add it to your rage room playlists (AKA your morning commute to work) and embrace the real, unfiltered artistry of UnityTX.
